Guide
for Brides |

Confused
about what type of jewellery & accessories to wear on your
big day?
You've chosen your gown and your
bridesmaids dresses, but then what. Do you choose pearls,
crystals,
diamentes?. What if you have short hair or having a more relaxed
and informal
wedding.
Well, below is a guide especially for brides to give you an idea as
to what works with what.
Remember too that most of our designs are customizable and are able
to be matched to your fabric.
We use Swarovski crystals & pearls
and also freshwater pearls in our designs.
With a plethora of colours
available,
you the bride are only limited by your imagination.

What style of jewellery should I choose?
Sometimes that
depends on the style or theme of your wedding, what your personality
is, your skin colour, physique and hairdo for the day and of course
your wedding venue. Generally, if you are having a more traditional
wedding gown, a more traditional
crystal
or pearl choker can look great. Or if you are having
a more relaxed style of wedding, a simpler
design may look better.
What sort of tiara/headpiece should I wear?
Again a tiara may suit a more formal gown & occasion,
but if your gown is more casual or simple in design, a
comb or crystal or pearl hairpiece may be more appropriate.
What sort of necklace should I wear?
That depends on the neckline of your dress. Chokers can
look great with strapless gowns, a V-neckline would suit a simple
drop pearl for
example. A scoop neckline can accommodate most necklace styles.
However it's important for the jewellery not to compete with your
dress. Ideally
the jewellery needs to compliment your gown.
What about bracelets & earrings?
We can make matching bracelets & earrings to co-ordinate into a
set of jewellery to match the style & colour of your gown.
Should I wear a necklace, bracelet, headpiece & earrings together?
It depends, if your dress is heavily beaded for example, a simple
elegant necklace, dainty earrings and a simple headpiece will be
enough without looking too overdone.
On the other hand a simple
strapless gown can look stunning with a cuff bracelet or maybe
chandelier earrings to add a bit of drama. Less is always more.
However it really depends on all of the elements that make up your
wedding style as mentioned before - your type of wedding, style
of gown, fabric, venue, your personality, your skin tone, hair
colour etc etc.
At Shacara Beaded Jewellery, we can offer you free no obligation
advice by appointment
to help you choose your wedding jewellery accessories.
I have short hair, what can I wear in my hair?
Hairpins are a great idea for short hair & are suitable
to wear with or without a veil. Your hairdresser will be able to
fix them
in position for you. Crystal or pearl combs are another great idea
that can be combined with a veil or worn without. Gorgeous feather
& nett fascinators are another great way to complete your look.
I see a design I like on your site but my dress is a different
colour.
No problem, we specialize in custom
orders. All you need
is a swatch of your fabric to colour match.
Should I have pearls or crystals?
It depends on your over all look. We can help you co-ordinate
the perfect look using the components that set off your gown perfectly.
Years of experience in the bridal couture business makes Shacara
the ideal place to ask for advice in this area.
Can you match the crystals/pearls in my wedding
dress?
Absolutely. We have access to a vast array of colours
of crystals
and pearls to choose from. All that is needed is a fabric swatch
of your gown.
What do my bridesmaids wear?
Again, most colours of crystals can be sourced to match
your bridesmaids dresses. You can even help design the girl's necklaces
& earrings. Advice can be given on what suits your bridal party
to
achieve a co-ordinated look.
I'm still confused, can I ask your advice in person?
That's what we are here for. Feel free to come over & visit Shacara
Beaded Jewellery's quiet & comfortable studio in the leafy north
eastern suburb of Rosanna.
Shacara is open on Friday's between 2pm & 5pm, Saturday's 10am
